Become a Civil War Soldier at the Cromwell Museum during the first week of August. Take part in pike drills on Wednesday, meet civil war soldiers on Saturday, and explore the arms and armour on display at the Museum with a new trail available all week.

Do you have what it takes to join the New Modelled Army and fight for Parliament?
Join us and meet real Civil War soldiers, take part in pike training, and receive your recruitment certificate signed by Oliver Cromwell!
Training will take place every hour beginning at 10:00am. Last training at 3:00pm. No booking required, drop in only. Ages 6+.

11:00am - 4:00pm
Cromwell Museum
Pop into the Museum to meet one of Parliament's soldiers from the time of the Civil Wars. Our soldier will tell you about what it was like to fight in the civil wars, and demonstrate how the weapons and armour functioned!
No need to book, just drop into the Museum anytime between 11am - 4pm.

Each Wednesday in August, join us at the Cromwell Museum to explore what it was like to live in the 17th century through hands-on and creative activities. Become a civil war soldier, create prints with 17th century flowers and herbs, take part in spy training, and learn to ‘paint with stone’ by making your own pietra dura craft!
