To tie in with our current exhibit 'Women of the Civil War', meet costumed re-enactors at the Museum to explore some of the stories and lives of women during this tumultuous period of history.

Find out more about day to day life during the 1640s, costume and crafts of the time, and how women's lives changed as a result of this brutal conflict. Many found themselves under threat, whilst others found themselves liberated in the roles they could perform as a result of the 'world turned upside down'.
