The Cromwell Museum and Nautical Archaeology Society are delighted to announce a study day looking at the development of the navy in the mid-1600s, and particularly the amazing finds which have been recovered from the wreck of the Cromwellian warship 'London', which sank off Southend in 1665.
The study day will include a number of short talks, as well as the opportunity for visits to the Museum's current display on the Cromwellian Navy, which includes a number of artefacts recovered from the London. The talks will be held in the Georgian Assembly Room of Huntingdon Town Hall, just across the road from the Museum.
The programme for the day will be:
10.00 Arrive/Register/display hall/tea and coffee
10.30 Welcome and Introduction
10.40 Talk 1: Cromwell and the Naval Revolution, Stuart Orme
11.20 Talk 2: Looking at the London, Richard Endsor

We will also be 'livestreaming' the talks via Zoom, so if you are not able to attend you can watch the talks from the comfort of your own home. Please purchase a livestreaming ticket (£15) if you would like to take advantage of this option.
Any proceeds from this event will be divided equally between the Cromwell Museum and the Save the London Project, both independent charities. Your support is very much appreciated.
The above programme may be subject to change depending on any variations in the pandemic; we do request that all in-person attendees take a Lateral Flow Test on the day before attending.
